Uncompromising Safety & Full Regulatory Compliance

Our Highest Priority: Your Safety and Well-being

At Borneo Orangutan Voyages, the safety and security of our guests, our crew, and the communities we visit are the bedrock of our operations. As a premier luxury concierge service under the reputable Juara Holding Group, we adhere to a safety culture that is rigorous, proactive, and transparent. We operate in full compliance with all Indonesian laws and regulations and strive to meet or exceed international best practices for expedition travel. This commitment to safety is not just a policy; it is our promise to you.

Corporate Licensing & Regulatory Standing

We maintain a flawless legal and regulatory standing, ensuring our operations are fully transparent and accountable to the Indonesian government and our clients.

  • Legal Entity: Borneo Orangutan Voyages is a registered brand operating under PT Juara Wisata Dunia, a fully incorporated Perseroan Terbatas (Limited Liability Company) in Indonesia.
  • Tourism Business License (TDUP): We hold a valid Tanda Daftar Usaha Pariwisata (TDUP) issued by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf), authorizing us to operate as a full-service tour and travel provider.
  • Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP): Our company is fully registered with the Indonesian Directorate General of Taxes (Direktorat Jenderal Pajak) and is compliant with all national tax obligations.
  • ASITA Membership: We are a proud member of the Association of the Indonesian Tours and Travel Agencies (ASITA), adhering to its professional code of conduct and ethical standards.

Operational Safety Standards & Protocols

Operating in a remote jungle environment requires meticulous planning and robust safety protocols. Our standards are comprehensive and strictly enforced.

  • Vessel Safety & Certification: Every klotok in our curated fleet undergoes an annual seaworthiness inspection and must hold a valid certificate. Before every single departure, we secure a Surat Persetujuan Berlayar (SPB), or Port Clearance, from the harbormaster, which is only granted after a physical inspection of safety equipment and crew documentation.
  • Crew Certification & Training: Our captains are licensed by the Directorate General of Sea Transportation and hold relevant maritime competency certificates. All crew members are trained in Basic Safety Training (BST), first aid, and emergency response procedures. Furthermore, all our employees are covered by BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (social security and work accident insurance) and BPJS Kesehatan (health insurance).
  • Onboard Emergency Equipment: Each vessel is equipped with a satellite phone for communication in areas with no cellular signal, a GPS navigation system, a comprehensive medical kit curated for remote environments, and more than the required number of life jackets and fire extinguishers.
  • Emergency Evacuation Plan: We have a detailed, pre-planned emergency protocol that includes established relationships with medical clinics in Pangkalan Bun and a clear procedure for medical evacuation to larger hospitals in Jakarta or Singapore if required.

Guide & Guest Safety

Our duty of care extends to every moment of your journey.

  • Certified & Trained Guides: All our lead guides are certified by the Himpunan Pramuwisata Indonesia (HPI) and receive additional, proprietary training from us on risk assessment, wildlife behavior, and guest management in the field. Meet our experts on the Our Team page.
  • Pre-Voyage Briefings: Before embarking, all guests receive a comprehensive safety briefing covering vessel safety, proper conduct in the national park, and how to behave during wildlife encounters.
  • Ground Transportation: All vehicles used for airport transfers and local logistics are part of our audited network. They are regularly maintained, commercially insured, and equipped with GPS tracking for added security.

Our meticulous attention to safety and compliance ensures that you can immerse yourself fully in the magic of your Borneo Orangutan Voyage with complete peace of mind.
